Group Leadership and Development

It is an overly obvious statement to say that there are groups everywhere. In our offices, families, churches and communities we relate to the world external to us. Therein lies an essential core of human dilemma, emotional development, existential morality and social compromise. I love working in groups because people wake up to appreciating that they are not alone in their struggles and that others share in the same basics of human pain and suffering.
We can learn to come out of our self-centered world and experience the pain and joy of another. In dropping our neurotic focus upon self we often experience the birth of empathy and genuine compassion. We are inundated with many television shows, commercials and billboard ads communicating the message that life can be fulfilled through attainment and images of prosperity. AIM and FIRE groups are dedicated to appreciating that happiness is not an attainment, rather an expression of our core humanity.
Group leadership focuses on communication skills related to genuine and empathic appreciation of the other. It is based on the undeniable experiential reality that I and Thou are inseperable. In this regard we often focus on the role of aware judgement independent of values and expectations; attachments and aversions. We learn to trust our awareness, open to mystery and loosen the reigns of enclosing identity. We explore and share our inspirations within a structured and supportive environment.
